My Story....a Message From Jennifer:

If you had asked my 5-year old self what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have looked you straight in the eye and told you "I am going to be a fashion designer." The years following were spent with my head buried in books looking for stories of inspiration that I could translate into designs. One sketchbook quickly turned into 10; 10 into 20, 30, 40.....and my artistic skills and designs steadily improved.

I spent my high school years locked in the art room at school, taking classes and independent studies that would provide me with the foundation I needed to attend an accredited university to study fashion design. Once making the decision to earn my degree at SCAD, I knew I was one step closer to living my dream.

As I worked my way towards my senior year of college, I was determined to design evening-wear. Finding inspiration in talented designers of the past, I made the decision to create my senior collection as an evening wear line that incorporated lingerie techniques. One of my favorite things about lingerie is the precise detail within each piece. I focused on mirroring this detail in each of the corsets in my designs.  During my studies this past year, I have discovered how much I love taking a garment from the page and bringing it to life. During the intense construction phase of my senior collection, my sewing skills improved immensely, allowing me to drape, pattern and sew a gown as precisely as a couture garment.

As my future unfolds, I will continue to make garments that let the wearer feel beautiful. Clothes can bring confidence to individuals through their unique designs, rich fabrics, quality construction and perfect fit.  Having experienced the thrill of wearing gowns so stunning that I felt like a fairy tale princess, I have strived to capture that feeling and let it embody my designs. It is as important for a woman to feel this way with the garments she wears that are seen by the public, along with those which are worn closest to her body and which make her feel beautiful for herself.  When my designs are worn, my wish for the wearer is that she will look in the mirror and she will see the woman of her dreams.
